As a last minute job, I was asked to manage the installation of two 103″ panasonic screens for New Era clothing at the Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin.

These screens are massive. standing 2.5 meters tall, when in portrait, and weighing over 200kg each.

Not very easy to move about, requiring heavy machinery to station them and plenty of hands to make sure these expensive pieces of kit didn’t get damaged.

A complete success and safely managed, New Era are very pleased.

Bristols finest music event. Brining the best of local Music, Art, Street Theatre, Comedy and Circus to the city centre.

I’ve been involved with Brisfest for the past 3 years. Sitting on the comity for Bristol Festival Community Group, helping plan and shape the festival. There is a large number of talented volunteers that make Brisfest happen and without these people the festival wouldn’t be as well rounded as it is……

I manage the on-site Production office for the live days of the event helping coordinate the volunteers and staff. A relatively small event with 15,000 people attending over a weekend. But with tones of entertainment throught the day and night.

My main rolls include: Understanding and implementing emergency procedures (if any arise), managing the build and production schedules for the main staff, payment of artists, managing budgets, managing the feeding of the hungry crew members, overseeing the accreditation processes, supporting all areas, general information handling and distribution to members of staff, performers and public but most importantly. The logging and collecting information of the events proceedings for review by Brisfest and the local authorities including the council.

This year, aswell as the usual main stages, bars, boat parties and Rave On Avon. We created an emersive underground rave, situated in the @ Bristol underground carpark. (of course with permission). Bringing in some talented DJ’s from Bristol and afar.

Brisfest 2011 was the most succesful year yet. Showing that the hard work of all that are involved really does pay off.

Working with the newly branded Luma (aka Lumacoustics) I was asked to fly to Aberdeen in Scotland to collect a Digital Graffiti wall from a client and then proceded to the Whiskey districts and setup a show in the Glenlivet distilery.

The event was for Ballentines, event managed by Finx. Ballentines is one of the largest whiskey exporters in the country. They wanted to congratulate their overseas sales and marketing teams by introducing them to Scotland in style.

I provided technical support, logistics and management of the job, crew and budget. Turned out to be a spectacular drive through the highlands to a beautiful setting where a well organised and friendly event team were waiting.

After our day at the event, we headed on to Aviemore in Scotland for the next event.

This event was also for Ballentines. This time with the french sales & marketing team.

Our main job here was to get people to interact with the YrWall equipment by giving demos of how to draw on the wall with some persoanl artwork.

In all, both events were a great success and the Ballentines staff were overwhelmed with how amazing the equipment was.

Shambala invited me back for my 3rd year in the Production office. There is so much to write about Shambala, it really is a beautiful and friendly place to work and play. There is a great deal of love and detail put into the Shambala family.

The organisers also take great care toward the impact they have on the enviroment. Its the only truly 100% green energy, taking bio diesel and solar power to the festival scene and showing it can really work. A fantastic step in the right direction as the costs alone for normal diesel and fuel is high but the enviromental impact is just as great. The proven switch to bio and renuable energy should make all organisers really start to question how they power their event.

There are some great images and other fun things on their website, please visit them: www.shambalafestival.org

It takes a field, a movie set, tons of walk about artists and 23 seperate venues and creates a unique emersive festival that really wows the audience. I was on site for the last 3 weeks of a month long build looking after the site and production office and then becoming the event controller for the show days.

Boom Town Fair made a mark on the festival peoples expectations this year and has truly raised the bar for next years bigger, better and exciting Boom Town.

Attending my 4th Lewisham Peoples Day with Continental Drifts as the Production Office Manager.

This is a great commuinity event that takes place in the heart of Lewisham within Mountsfield Park. The event welcomes over 30,000 people in one day with a capacity of 18,000 so the logistics and entry system are different to most community events in London.

Another Great year with lots of entertainment for all ages. Lots of music from the community and from afar. Overall I was on site for 3 days working closly with the council and police to make sure the event ran smoothly.

Plenty of mud, rain and then blistering heat. A trying 9 days on site helping establish the Dance Village and the production offices for this incredible event.

I was asked to do day management in the production office in Dance Village as my primary role. Looking after the general administrative and running of the production areas, supporting the team in what ever way possible. Although wet and miserable for the best part, everyone managed to enjoy themselves. Glastonbury is a great event to work on with so much to take in. Its run like a small town and is larger than the neighbouring village. An outstanding show and perfomance by a very dedicated crew.

A pleasure to work with the team for the last 4 years.
